The Community Education & Development Centers Inc. (CEDC) is announcing a Scholarship Contest where participants will be asked to identify and codify the persons and/or groups who have been portrayed in the collage of African American Achievers(AAA) Hall of Fame  portrait produced by Gerald Davis, in celebration of  Black History month.

The achievers portrayed in the collage have distinguished themselves by excelling in the fields of

Science, Technology, Sports. Entertainment, Military Achievements, Education & Statesmanship. Contestants will be judged on proper identification of the achievers and asked to write an essay on the achievers they admired the most.  The finalists will be asked to orally expound on their essays in a public forum at the end of June 2023. The collage will be posted on our website. The top prizes will be awarded on the basis of correct identification and the quality of their essay and oral delivery.

Top prizes will be awarded in cash and scholarships to the learning institution of their choice including

but not limited to:

*Industrial Arts & Science

*Theology & Prevention of Alcohol & Drug Abuse

*Schools of Communication

*Schools of Performing Arts

*All Sports League

*ROTC Leadership Academy

*Medical Research, Training, Treatment & Evaluation

*GED Training & Certification

*SAT * College Preparatory Training

This Scholarship fund and Contest is being offered to the entire population so that everyone can realize that achievement is possible under adverse conditions as evidenced by the accomplishments of these African-American Achievers who distinguished themselves and found Dignity, Value & Worth in their lives .  Hopefully their accomplishments can motivate others to strive to overcome adversity & realize their God given potential.  Good luck. Scholarships will range from $1,000. to $50  and may increase depending on donations from Sponsors, contributors and donors.  Further information will be available on our website CEDCI.org   Ron Williams, Executive Director CEDC.
